What about allowance/rewards?
"Other apps let me give our children allowance/rewards. Why can't I do that here?"
It's a trap!
A chores-based allowance makes chores into a transaction. Chores become something you do for money.
Our goal is to make a community with shared responsibilities. Tying allowance to chores undermines that community building.
Put another way, teaching your children to treat chores like a job also teaches them to treat your family like a job.
Allowance is also a bigger picture
An allowance system needs to cover more than shared chores. For example, not being a jerk to your sister, or personal chores like cleaning your room.
You can still have an allowance system, but tying it to your chores app solves it at the wrong level. Chores should be just one factor.
