Chores are a contentious issue. Most chore systems cause hurt feelings, which makes it hard to move forward.

Until you have established that as a hard, non-negotiable line, no solution will work.

The biggest issue with chores is not the chores themselves. The issue is how it makes your family feel.
Authoritarian systems are usually fair and organized, but they also dehumanize you, and make chores into an obligation.
